Before you can print from your Apple iMac, you'll need to connect your printer to the computer. If you have a Wi-Fi® enabled printer, you can connect it to your iMac using a wireless network. If you have a USB printer, you can connect it to your iMac using a USB cable. Once you've connected your printer, you'll need to add it to your list of printers in System Preferences.

How to set up scanning
Most Apple iMacs come with a built-in scanner, so you won't need to connect an external scanner. To scan a document, open the app that you want to use for scanning, such as Preview or Image Capture. Select your scanner in the app, and then select the settings that you want to use for your scan. When you're ready, click the Scan button.
